What of Indiana Jones in the fading woke world?

He researched and collected archaeological artifacts. Then he sold them for money. But he sold them to a museum for all to enjoy. We learn he’s adamant about archaeological artifacts being in museums. And, he used the money not to bolster personal wealth, he used the money to fund the next adventure to collect artifacts to sell to the museum.

This seems to be very good.

However . . .

Collecting artifacts is cultural appropriation.

Selling artifacts is capitalism.

Collecting artifacts outside the United States is colonialism.

Indy being a man and not an invincible girl-boss is patriarchy.

Indy committing so many outright murders is toxic masculinity.

That he was never held to account for committing so many outright murders is white male privilege.

These are all supremely bad in the fading woke world.

But . . .

A public museum display of artifacts for all to enjoy equally is socialism.

And in the fading woke world socialism is the greatest good.

So what of the fading woke world and Indiana Jones? Who cares. Indy can just go about doing his job without the spectre of presentism attempting to dismantle his legacy.
