Congressman targets cereal prices

It’s a congressional investigation into the PRICE OF CAP’N CRUNCH! This really happened and within recent history.

On March 7, 2005, Rep. Charles Schumer (D-NY) said he is angry about the high price of Fruit Loops and other breakfast cereals, and on Tuesday he asked the Justice Department to do something about it.

Think. A congressman was angry about the high price of cereal. Cereal. He wrote a letter to Janet Reno. Cereal. Think on this.

And then think of insulin. And then think of the outrageous price of insulin that directly affects 7.4 million Anericans. And then think of the mortal neccessity of insulin that directly affects 7.4 million Americans. And then think of the despicable legislative ineffectiveness from our Congress in regulating insulin pricing… that directly affects 7.4 million Americans.

Congress has investigated aggressively the unfair price of Rice Krispies. So why not investigate aggressively the unfair price of insulin? 7.4 million Americans aren’t dependent on Raisin Bran to live.

And the half-hearted investigation by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) LAUNCHED ON JANUARY 14 OF LAST YEAR and the half-hearted investigation by Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) LAUNCHED ON APRIL 2 OF LAST YEAR has forwarded no effective progress in making insulin affordable for those Americans with diabetes WHO NEED AFFORDABLE INSULIN RIGHT NOW.

Why isn’t the unaffordable price of insulin in the top newscycle every day?

C’mon, Speaker Pelosi. Quit mucking about with nonsense like using the Constitution to settle a playground fist fight and do something real for once.

Insulin pricing regulation begins with Congress. Prioritize and fast track insulin pricing regulation. Make it real. Do the right thing, Speaker Pelosi.
