The deal is, every few years something else of passion takes the front, and this ends up being yet another change in career. I continue doing all the stuff that turned coin in prior days – geologist, mental health advocate, music industry journalist, author, photographer, medical billing instructor, science teacher, comedian, etc. – and I then add the new passion to the ever evolving list of stuff requiring directed expertise. This is Route 66 for the next few years.
Life is what life is, and the only way to keep life from stagnating is to mix it up from time to time. It’s a worldview that keeps at bay the common threat of one’s unchanging profession becoming their identity.
