On my personal facebook profile, removing hateful, partisan comments is not “censorship.” If I was somehow able to keep these comments from appearing anywhere on facebook that would be censorship. But on my own profile this is far from censorship.
Let me explain through analogy.
You come into my house and take a dump in the middle of my kitchen floor.
I don’t like this. It’s unsightly and smells horrible. It’s making all the food I’m cooking taste funky. Your political feces can’t remain there in the middle of my kitchen floor.
Me cleaning up your political feces from my kitchen floor is me scrubbing your hateful, partisan comment from my personal facebook profile.
And me blocking you is me double locking the door so you can’t take a second dump on the floor in my home.
You can take a dump on the floor in your own home. Or you can locate people who think like you and take dumps on the floors of each other’s homes. In my home, I’m on alert to your hateful, partisan crap. Take your squeeze elsewhere.
