There are many facets to human nature that are cornerstones of what makes us such a unique specie. Banging on the glass at the zoo when we think the animal is sleeping. Panic buying toilet paper because a killer virus is on the loose. Marriage.

We’ve also invented a tool connecting people who otherwise would never meet during their lives, and we’ve dedicated much of our waking moments to this invention’s communal virtual gatherings, on places like this – Facebook – sharing ideas and words in far reaching sporadic posts – like this one.

This international connectivity also reveals much of human behavior, parts of human nature that might never be otherwise expressed or noticed.

Humans have always been drawn to other humans who share ideals, interests, and imperatives. What becomes unavoidably apparent is a commonality across all factions, whether Maskateers, anti-Big Pharma, or Antifa. What is this compelling facet of humanity?

People cherry pick isolated incidents as proof of a much broader point.

And it turns out there are a lot of like-minded cherry pickers with whom to find comfort on places like Facebook. It happens there’s no shortage of like-minded cherry pickers who might never have met. And these like-minded cherry pickers on places like Facebook take “conspiracy theories” from the realm of a clandestine basement shortwave radio set up to astronomically amplified mainstream relevance.

I won’t list any examples. All you need to do is read the stuff your friends post on Facebook, and maybe even scrutinizing your own posts.

Or, just watch what upsets Facebook Independent Fact Checker the most.
