I don’t know the name of the fool in Orlando. I don’t want to know. Please, I know what I want to know about the massacre, I don’t want to know any more. I don’t want to know his name, I don’t want to know what gun he used, I don’t want to know about his backstory, I don’t want to know about his wife, I don’t want to know any of this. I know he killed people at a nightclub.

Also, I don’t want to hear about alligators and Disney World. I left the table at DBSA Game Night because the conversation turned to a boy dying at Disney World.

So, here’s the deal. If it doesn’t have to do with information that specifically and directly ties to my volunteer work and/or peer advocacy, I don’t want to know about it.

If what you want to share with me is more akin to gossip than needful information, leave me out of the conversation.

If what you want to share with me is associated with the politics of bills and statutes, etc., let me make the choice to hear more. I’ve divorced myself from most legislation advocacy.

If what you want to share with me highlights the worst in human nature rather than celebrates the human condition, I don’t want to know.

I will walk away from the conversation. My choice since July 29, 2012.

Thanks.
