Saying it as it is, that’s my guiding principle. As such, in my travels through 2020 and 2021, including here at home in Q-Town, it’s impossible to deny “tent cities” are growing while services for those experiencing homelessness continue to dwindle (an inactive economy does this to service funding). The numbers are strong for how many of these individuals have mental health, co-occurring, and addiction needs, and further, this population includes a large number of United States military veterans.

No matter how good it feels inviting foreign nationals expedited entry into our sovereign nation, here’s the priority and reality:

WE MUST MEET THE NEEDS OF AMERICANS BEFORE ABSORBING A NEW POPULATION NEEDING SERVICES.

It can’t be claimed I don’t care about others, nor can it be levied I don’t do my part in caring for others.

Argue with me at your peril. Saying it as it is.
